PARADISE OFF-ROAD TRIATHLON

Enjoy a day at Paradise, Glenorchy and compete in an off-road triathlon or duathlon.

The mountain bike and run is through the stunning Paradise bush where parts of Narnia and Lord of the Rings were filmed.

This relaxed event has a course designed for first timers in mind. A great event for people new to the sport. Come out with the whole family (even if you are not competing) it really is paradise.

How to Get There

Head into Queenstown, turn South into Shotover Street and go straight following the Lake until you reach Glenorchy. When you enter Glenorchy you will reach a round about, turn right onto the Glenorchy, Paradise Road. Follow this road until you see the marshals and signs.

The Course

Triathlon

SWIM OR KAYAK: 500m swim or 3km paddle in the pristine Diamond Lake. Course will be patrolled.
MOUNTAIN BIKE: Approximately 18km being three loops of a 6km course heading anti-clockwise from the Paradise homestead around the property.
RUN: A 6km off-road run being two loops of a 3km course heading anti-clockwise from the Paradise homestead around the property.

This can be completed individually or in a team of 2 or 3.

Duathlon

MOUNTAIN BIKE: Approximately 18km being three loops of a 6km course heading anti-clockwise from the Paradise homestead around the property.
RUN: A 6km off-road run being two loops of a 3km course heading anti-clockwise from the Paradise homestead around the property.

Childrens Course (8-15 years)

SWIM: Approximately 100m
BIKE: 6km (one loop of the adults course)
RUN: 3km (one loop of the adults course)

All childrens entries are $10 and can be made online or on the day from 10am until 11am.

Race Entry and Timings

You can enter online or enter on the day at the Paradise Grounds between 10.00am until 11am. (It is cheaper to enter online!)
Race Briefing will be at 11.15am.
Race start is at 11.30am.

Prize Giving

2pm at the Paradise Grounds.
You must be present to claim a spot prize.

Race day services

Peak Performance Massage will have massage therapists at the finish line, $20 for 15mins. 

Glenorchy Lodge will be there with a selection of hot & cold drinks, whitebait sandwiches, filled rolls and much more! No EFTPOS/Credit Card available please bring cash with you.

Didymo

We need all competitors to be vigilant and ensure that Lake Diamond remains Didymo free. Please ensure that your wetsuits and/or kayaks have been thoroughly cleaned and dried before using them on race day if you have been anywhere near any Didymo affected areas.
